PHARMACEUTICS
Pharmaceutics is the discipline of pharmacy that deals with all facets of the process of turning a new chemical entity into a medication able to be safely and effectively used by patients. It is the science of dosage form design. With all the necessary infrastructural facility and experienced faculty, department of pharmaceutics is actively engaged in the teaching and research of different subject areas of pharmaceutics like pharmaceutical technology, biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, physical pharmaceutics, industrial pharmacy and drug delivery system.

Pharmaceutical chemistry
Pharmaceutical chemistry is interdisciplinary science that deals with the designing, synthesis, identification, developing and analyzing New Chemical Entity (NCE). This study helps to understand mechanism of action of drug at molecular level. Modern approaches like quantitative structure activity relationship, computer aided drug design, High performance liquid chromatography, Gas chromatography, UV spectroscopy, Infrared spectroscopy etc. are used to study the chemical nature of drugs. The students are well prepared with the application of modern information and scientific technologies in drug development safety and efficacy studies. The department is well equipped with necessary apparatus and instruments in different chemicals aspect of drugs like physical, analytical, organic, inorganic, biochemical, medicinal etc. There are well equipped laboratories for undergraduate students and research labs for postgraduate students. Well qualified and experienced staff is the highlight of this department.
Pharmacognosy
The Department of Pharmacognosy is dedicated to natural and herbal medicinal product research in pharmaceutical sciences. This department deals with the study of biology, chemistry, biochemistry, taxonomy, and ethnobiology of natural products obtained from plant, animal, marine and other life origins. We use interdisciplinary approaches to identify, analyse, and purify multi-component mixtures from plant, fungal, or marine sources focusing on the characterization of their bioactive secondary metabolites. Pharmacognosy has undergone significant change in recent years and today represents a highly interdisciplinary science, which is one of the major pillars of Pharmaceutical education. Areas of active interest include natural products chemistry, isolation, characterization and biological studies of phytoconstitutents using animal models, herbal cosmetics, novel herbal formulations, and their standardization.

Pharmacology
The discipline of Pharmacology deals with the study of drug’s mechanism of action, therapeutic effects, drug interaction etc. The Department of Pharmacology provides a vibrant and dynamic environment for conducting high quality research and teaching. Students enrolled in undergraduate degree are taught by the department in all the four years of their study. The knowledge derive from pharmacology can be use in “Pharmacy” to achieve optimal therapeutic outcome through preparation of appropriate formulation and dispensing of medicine. The department has well established animal house giving all the necessary care & facilities for hygienic housing of laboratory animals like Wistar rats and mice required for study. The laboratory is well equipped with latest instruments like sophisticated digital video tracking system, digital Plethysmometer digital, digital Actophotometer, rota-rod apparatus, digital elevated plus maze, electric convulsometer, digital analgesiometer, histamine chamber, with other routinely required instruments like digital student’s organ bath and Kymograph etc, to give hands on experience in preclinical studies to the students. The major research areas of department include Phytochemical, Immunopharmacological Toxicological, Neuropsychological and behavioral studies. The department has many research publications in national and international Journals.
Quality Assurance Techniques
Department of Quality Assurance Techniques deals with study of physical and chemical examination of plastic containers examination of labels, cartons and other printed materials, designing of key documents, validation of equipments, cleaning validation and Analytical Method Validation. The department housing all latest equipments required to conduct the practicals as per the curriculum and research to meet the current demands. Department has qualified, dedicated, devoted faculty and are actively involved in research activities.
